Good evening my bloggish peeps
Pedro and I are dropping in to give y’all a status report on our Bloggiesta progress. Overall we’ve done pretty good, especially given the fact that I had to work for my real job today on top of any bloggy tasks I did.
Go me!
Here’s the low down on what got done today:
Installed Google Analytics
Well, technically I’d already installed it onto my self-hosted server but had not yet signed up for service through Google and got the settings arranged so I went ahead and did that this evening. Now it’s a game of hurry up and wait to see if it worked. I’ll check the stats tomorrow to see if any data is recorded as far as activity is concerned.
Custom Blog Designer Update
I’ve contracted to have my blog template, brand (logo, business cards), and Twitter template custom designed. I’ve been working with my girl for over a month now and reached out to her again today to see about moving forward with the latest mock-up. She let me know that it’s not ready yet and she’ll be in touch with more soon.
Feed Reader Clean Up
I read through the postings in my feed reader today. Took time to comment and participate as much as I could amongst the hundreds of new threads available to me. I also did a bit of house keeping — added YA and Romance folders and shifted some feeds into them as they are niche blogs as compared to general review blogs.
I also implemented a great suggestion outlined in the mini-challenge posted by Rebecca at Book Lady’s Blog. Where possible I added a blog owners name as part of the feed title in my reader. That should be extremely helpful in allowing me to personalize responses until I get to know people better. I’m quite pleased to have that ability I admit.
Bloggiesta Mini-Challenges
As mentioned above I’ve done the two bird one stone thing with my to-do list and the feed reader mini-challenge. I also participated in Trish of Hey Lady Whatcha Readin’s challenge and got myself set up with a gravatar. I’m super excited for this because I’d been wondering for weeks how to go about doing so. I’d seen others with theirs displayed in blog comments yet didn’t see a way through posting information to include one. This challenge was very timely and useful for me.
Now you can see it’s me when I post! YAY
All in all I got about 6 hours worth of blog related work done today and I’m quite proud and feeling a sense of accomplishement. Tomorrow is when the heavy hitting will come about. I’ll hopefully be more refreshed and able to concentrate on getting a lot done over the course of the day.
So, dear audience, this concludes our show for the day. Please tune back in tomorrow for regularly scheduled programming.

Jen - Devourer of Books:
I think you got more done than I did too and, like The Biblio Brat, I wasn’t even at work. I’m interested to see how your new look turns out and hear about your experience with the designer, that’s something I really want to do.

Debbie:
Awesome job! You were so productive. LOL. I may have to ask you about Google Analytics and gravatars. I think I’m going to try and tackle those as well once my daughter goes to bed and I can really get cracking on bloggiesta.

Wow. You’ve gotten a lot done. Getting the gravatar done was cool. I was wondering how to do it, too. Bloggiesta (and fabulously smart bloggers to the rescue!). Now I’m trying to figure out how to get a pretty RSS subscription button like yours ;o).
