In case you haven’t already realized it I’m a *huge* fan of the Hunger Games series. If you haven’t read it may I strongly encourage you to do so? You won’t be sorry I assure you.
At any rate I was lucky enough to have an awesome friend (who shall remain nameless until such time as she tells me I can name her) who generously sent me a copy of Catching Fire in the mail so I could read. Can I tell you I was *not* disappointed in it. Moving on….anyway, Amy of My Friend Amy and I were chatting one evening on Twitter about Catching Fire and who we thought Katniss should ultimately end up with and Team Peeta was born.
Further chatting had us discussing how we can best display our team spirit and voila the Team Peeta button was born!

Now I know many of you haven’t read the book yet (only a few more weeks to go) so I won’t spoil anything for you here, but I will say that Peeta is da MA-AAN!
**added by popular demand (and because I’m all about being fair and spreading the good will) I’ve also created a Team Gale button for those who have a preference for him!

I think you should re-post this a couple days after the release. I don’t feel I should pick a team till I’ve read Catching Fire (though I’ll likely go with Team Peeta because–really, how can Gale possibly top that?).
My bookseller called to tell me my book is in, behind the counter with my name on it, but he can’t let me have it till Sept 1 and detailed all their threats if he did so. (I’d tried to warn him that this was a hot commodity out in the real world, but I guess he didn’t hear me.)

While it appears as if Suzanne Collins is going for TeamKatnissKicksAss FTW, I’m still Team Gale. Seriously, Peeta, which pretty cool, is actually kind of pathetic during both Hunger Games. Or at least not as cool as I imagine Gale would be in the Games.
I must go re-read the books now!

Gale’s great for Katniss, but Peeta’s the only one who can stop the nightmares. He’s so comforting and understanding, and I swear, it feels like he’ll never stop loving her.

Can I be Team Both?? Ok, that wouldn’t be right. But how the heck can I choose between the guy who shared the hunting that sustained her family after her dad died, and the guy who keeps the nightmares at bay, and who understands the nightmares for that matter? Between the guy whose goodness would have sustained her family if she had died, and the guy whose goodness inspires her to save him so he can pass it on to his future children? Peeta is so friggin’ GOOD, who wouldn’t want a guy like that? But Gale is pretty awesome, too, in his different way. I am so torn…I almost hoped, in a twisted part of my sick little mind, that one would die so that Katniss wouldn’t have to choose. Because, really, how CAN she? But now that I don’t know what happened to Peeta, I feel guilty for thinking that. I want him back; I hope he’s okay. I don’t think I’m going to make it to fall 2010.

I totally agree with Windy Sue! There is no possible way for me to choose which one I like the most. Peeta is sweet and very considerate, and Gale is also very sweet when it comes to Katniss. In Catching Fire, Gale showed more of his affections and can give Peeta a run for his money. However, Peeta still makes me swoon a bit and I can’t help but love the way Suzanne Collins wrote him. Both of them would make Katniss happy, but I kind of want her to be with Gale since she has known him longer and also because of their many similarities and difficulties they had to face in life

As for the teams I’m team GALE always and forever. Not one doubt in my mind. Peeta is too pathetic for me, he is also a tad bit creepy with his obsession over Katniss. He talked to her for like a week and he was willing to offer his life for her in the games? C’mon.

I’m first and foremost Team Katniss and would love for her to live a happily ever after with Gale once the Capitol is overthrown. With that being said, however, I think Peeta is awesome and would love to see him as the leader of a democratic Panem after they’ve squashed the Capitol.

I am so team Peeta, I have been since he confessed his love for Katniss during his interview. I just picked up “Hunger Games” and started reading Thanksgiving night, Finished it on Friday night, LATE. Made an excuse to go and buy “Catching Fire” Sunday afternoon and finished it last night! What an ending!

I think Katniss will end up with Peeta- I think destiny brought them together and I really don’t think Peeta can love any other girl (He has tried to look at other girls since he was 5, right?)- but I do love gale as well. He is equal to katniss- they both are very similar- quiet, determined, caretakers, strong, survivors. Katniss always ends up saving Peeta at the games, although he is always trying to protect Katniss. I know Peeta would die to save Katniss- would gale do the same? They did introduce Madge- I wonder if Madge always had a soft spot for gale? I love both gale and peeta- but I think katniss will realize she has loved peeta all this time, even though she has faught it out of guilt…

You would think the nightmares, the terrible things he lived there (he was almost dying!), the thoughts, he would back out and let Haymitch go but NO! The first thing he did when he found out about the new rule – demanded to go with her! I looooove him and I hope Katniss realizes so does she!

GALE <3 He's a man and Peeta's just a weak boy. Gale is GOOD for Katniss, she can only be herself with him. He makes her realize when she's not being herself, when she's being selfish. They have saved each other's lives for 5 years. Gale and Katniss are already the OTP.
