Challenge Me

There has been a lot of chat about what challenges readers are going to undertake in the new year. Recently I went through the listings at A Novel Challenge to formulate my own game plan for 2010. This is what I have so far but it’s subject to change because I know there are always new one’s popping up. At any rate here is my current list:
Christy Awards Reading Challenge
Debutante Ball Reading Challenge
That’s How I Blog: 20 Minute Book Club Challenge
Now, I think it’s important for people to know that my goal with any challenge is to treat it more as a guideline than a rule. I’m not in it to “win” it (though if I do fabulous!) I do them, in part, so that I can join in on some fun community building aspects of blogging. I want to be able to gab with people about book lists and fun things related to the challenges.
As part of this, starting in January, I’ll start recording where a book fits into my challenges as part of my review. It’s inconsequential to readers but it will help me organize and maybe encourage others to join in on challenges or talk about what books they are using for the same one. I’ll also be updating my challenge progress on my specially dedicated challenge page so I don’t continually spam readers who may not be interested. But if you are interested in watching how I’m doing feel free to check in there often!
Good luck on your challenges everyone who’s joining in

Louise:
I am going to join at least one of the challenges you’re in: The TwentyTen challenge. Can’t wait to put my list together for that one, though I still have to contemplate some more.

That’s quite a list. I know so far that I will be joining 100+, TwentyTen and What’s In a Name. But I also have a feeling there will be quite a few more I’ll put my name to.

Robin of My Two Blessings:
I’m also in Sookie and What’s in a name. I do the same thing when doing reviews, mention which challenge book applies to and updating my challenge page. Novelchallenges is a great place to find challenges. Now I just have to stop going on there for a while.

That’s a lot of challenges! I’m trying to choose carefully because I know I’ll make myself finish them and I don’t want to go crazy over reading which is supposed to be fun.
But there are just so many good ones out there, it’s hard to pick and choose.

I am working on picking challenges for myself that will work into my plans of reading purposefully. Thanks for the links.

The only one I’ve made up my mind to join is the 100+ challenge. Still debating on the others.
Good with with all of your challenges!

I’m glad I’m not the only one joining a dozen or so challenges! I haven’t posted mine yet, but will soon.

I still have to figure out exactly which challenges I’m *in* before joining new ones. I lose track of that so easily.
